To restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. BCP 855
Children's Sunday SchoolCovering from 1st to 6th grades
Time: 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Our "Deacons-in-Training" Chris Stanley and Lilly Plummer will join forces to work with the children of St. John’s using a variety of activities and lessons to provide a fun, learning environment for this up and coming generation of Episcopalians!
The first three classes will get the children familiar with the books of the Bible and tell the stories from the Sunday Lectionary for the week in a way that the children can relate to.
During the year the children will work on various projects, learn new songs and create a picture journal to remember their journey with.
They will be using lessons from Weaving God's Promises and the Episcopal Church Website.
Weaving God’s Promises is a new, three-year Episcopal curriculum for children’s Sunday education program. It utilizes threebasic themes: Weaving Our Faith, Weaving Together the Family of God and Weaving God’s Beloved Community. The children will begin in the Garden of Eden the first week of October and work their way through to the Cross.
Our Mission Statement:
How we welcome, treat, respect, and educate the children now will be the future of the Episcopal Church. |
